Metro Q Card
Metro is working on transforming the Q Card program. Until the new program is rolled out, Q Cards at HCC will be distributed based on availability.
With the METRO Q Card which is valid for two years, you get the following benefits:
- 50% off your fare
- 5 free rides for every 50 paid trips
- $0.60 each way on local bus/trains
- Available to all students (no credit hour minimum)
- You will be able to use it on every METRO trip
How to get your card
- Get your metro cards where you get your HCC Student ID cards (Easiest Way)
- Show your student ID & the Metro Q-card will be printed for you
- If your requested HCC location is out of Metro Q-Cards, you can order directly through Metro.
- What you’ll need:
- A government-issued ID
- And one of the following:
- Your tuition receipt showing your class schedule
- Verification of Enrollment Letter from the Admissions & Registration Office on-campus or virtually
- Completed application signed & stamped by school's registrar
- To obtain your tuition receipt:
- Log in to your HCC Student Sign-In
- Click the "Financial Account" tab
- Select "View Account by Term"
- Enter the current semester to generate your receipt

- Assists Community with Applying for SNAP, Medicaid, CHIP, TANF, Gold Card, Food & Social Service Resources (Legal, Basic Needs, Financial, Behavioral Health, Transportation, Employment, etc)
- Harris County RIDES
- RIDES is a great option for people for whom public transportation is either unavailable or inaccessible — helping eligible residents make doctor’s appointments, do grocery shopping or otherwise just get around and remain independent.
- RIDES is a curb-to-curb subsidized program that allows eligible customers and participating agencies to purchase transportation services at a significant discount. The customer/agency pays 50% of the total trip cost.

- Precinct2gether, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, is in partnership with The Cigna Group Foundation to deliver a transportation voucher program that provides rides for people living with disabilities, ages 18 - 64. The program will allow those in need to have door-to-door transportation from approved providers for medical appointments, social services appointments, essential care appointments, and essential shopping

- Precinct2gether, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, partners with Housing and Community Development (CDBG) to provide transportation voucher program that provides rides for the elderly (ages 65 and over) and the disabled (ages 18 and over)who are not served by Metro. The program will allow those in need, to have door-to-door transportation from approved providers for medical appointments, social services appointments, essential care appointments and essential shopping.

- HCC Emergency Help: Whatever the case may be, we have resources to help you not let a financial emergency take your attention away from school. Current students facing financial emergencies during the semester are encouraged to apply for available emergency aid based on need eligibility requirements.
- HCC Financial Coaches: Connect you with on-campus and community resources that will help you push through financial emergencies; make refunds last longer, and start making steps toward financial security.
- HCC Scholarships: In addition to federal and state aid, scholarships are a great way to help with the cost of your education. We encourage you to learn about the different types of scholarships awarded by financial aid, the HCC Foundation, and outside groups.
- HCC Financial Aid: Financial aid is available to help eligible part-time and full-time students pay for college. It can be a combination of scholarships, grants, loans, and Work-Study.
