The Associate of Art in Studio Art award prepares students for transfer to four-year institutions to complete a baccalaureate degree in art. Studio Art and Art History is the study of visual art and culture. The curriculum focuses on the examination and creation of visual artworks that are informed by wide-ranging concerns, including the formal elements and principles of art, political and social issues, and personal expression. Students will study art history and various art media, including design, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewelry and metalsmithing, printmaking, and digital art, in a supportive environment led by trained, professional artists.

HCC’s Filmmaking Program offers training for a career in media production by providing students with a solid foundation in six disciplines of filmmaking (screenwriting, producing, directing, cinematography, editing, and sound). Students will learn all phases of filmmaking: pre-production, production, post-production, and distribution.
