HCCTV

About us

HCCTV began in 1994 when the City of Houston chose the Houston Community College System (HCCS) to operate one of the its educational access channels. Already in place since 1980, HCCTV was the college system's video component, producing programs of education, training and college promotion. From that beginning, HCCTV became an effective, broadly supported community television station. Now the station has emerged as the premiere content provider for Houston Community College, producing radio, television, web and social media ads in addition to a wide range of local programming.

HCCTV is currently producing several signature shows such as "Dialogue Houston" (in its 21st year), "Global Outlook", "Common Cents," "The HYPE," and—most recently—“It's Your Business." In 2016, the station launched a new version of “Food Without Borders,” highlighting the cuisine of Houston and segments featuring students from the college’s culinary program. HCCTV also produces "Eye on HCC," a 30- 60-second promo highlighting programs and events around the college. As a community outreach service, HCCTV offers a 30- 60-second PSA tape opportunity once a month to non-profit organizations. Today, with an impressive staff and technical resources, HCCTV continues to expand its partnerships within the community.

HCCTV reaches more than 700,000 basic cable television subscribers daily in Houston’s city limits and beyond. It is broadcast on on AT&T U-verse Channel 99, Comcast Channel 19, TV Max Channel 97, Phonoscope Channel 77 and Cebridge Channel 20. HCCTV is committed to producing high-quality programming and remaining an integral part of Houston and surrounding areas' educational, economic and cultural life.
