Bio Summary  

Prior to his arrival in the U.S.A., David Regenbaum practiced as an attorney and was the founding partner of Regenbaum, Rapeport, Fanaroff and Partners in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 1967 he was admitted to practice as a specialist in real estate law and focused on the developing law of community associations.

During 1979 Regenbaum relocated to Houston, Texas and established Association Management, Inc. (AMI). Over a period of 36 years AMI achieved remarkable growth and prestige under his leadership, resulting in AMI becoming the leading community association management firm in Texas, managing over 300 communities consisting of over 100,000 homes and commercial Units. Many of his innovative management philosophies and practices have become industry standards.

In 2010 Regenbaum sold a majority interest in AMI to FirstService Residential which is the largest community association management company in America and is traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange.   He continued to lead the company until his retirement at the end of 2014 when he sold his remaining interest in AMI to FirstService Residential.

Since his retirement Regenbaum commenced his encore career and serves as - 

  • Faculty for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program administered by Houston Community College;
  • The Entrepreneur in Residence for the Center of Entrepreneurship at Houston Community College; and as
  • President of the Houston Community College Foundation.

Other Volunteer Activities include -

In 1977 Regenbaum joined the Community Associations Institute (CAI). He served as President of both the Greater Houston Chapter of CAI and CAI National. He also served as Chairman of the Education Council, as well as a member of the faculty of the Professional Management Development Program of CAI.  During the period 1979 to 2014 he received numerous awards including the Educator of the Year.  During 1983 he was awarded CAI’s highest designation, the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®). 

 

Ned Mueller

Ned Mueller is Entrepreneur in Residence, Center for Entrepreneurship Southeast. Upon graduating from the U. S. Naval Academy, Ned was commissioned a Marine Second Lieutenant prior to completing Basic School and flight training. He was designated a Naval Aviator and served as a Marine fighter pilot holding a number of leadership positions in operational squadrons. Still a current member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, his active service included flight instructor duties during fleet introduction of the F/A-18 and heading F/A-18 flight test at Patuxent River. During this tour, Ned served as lead uniformed representative establishing the F/A-18E/F Integrated Test Team. Mr. Mueller served in combat with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 232 in Desert Storm and as Commanding Officer of VMFA 312 aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt during Operation Deliberate Force.

After retiring from the Marines, Mr. Mueller joined Lockheed Martin and led contractor tasks on NASA’s X-38 International Space Station Crew Return Vehicle. Duties also included Orbital Space Plane, Crew Escape System, Columbia Mishap Investigation and Recovery; and Space Shuttle Return to Flight. Subsequent to the STS-107 tragedy, he performed duties as Columbia Task Force (CTF) JSC Representative, coordinating JSC’s technical, institutional, and programmatic interfaces with the Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB).  After leaving CTF, Ned served as Management Panel Representative for NASA’s Return to Flight Task Group, charged with independently assessing NASA’s compliance with CAIB report recommendations.  He then worked for ARINC, headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, developing opportunities and capabilities in aerospace, transportation, energy, security, and public safety sectors for the Texas Gulf Coast region. Ned joined GB Tech, a high technology and aerospace firm.  He subsequently assumed responsibility for all operations and business development as Vice President and General Manager, Operations.

Ned is Founder and CEO of Mueller Consultants, a Veteran-owned business providing Operational Risk Management and Senior Leadership consultation and is a Six Sigma Black Belt Professional and Change Management Specialist.

 

Kimberly Penn

Kimberly is known as the High Tech Maven and is the Founder and President of Webtropolis, a 28-year old boutique technology consulting firm. Having thrived during the .Com boom and bust of the late 90’s, Webtropolis specializes in technical audits, risk mitigation strategies, disaster preparedness and recovery. Webtropolis has become one of the nation’s leading technical auditing firms for federally funded organizations subject to The Security Rule.

She also founded two corporations specializing in drone technology and audio/video in additional to IoT technology. Currently, she has clients in greater Houston, thirteen states, Washington-DC, Canada, Mexico, Poland, and Dubai. She has worked on technology and security-based projects with budgets in excess of $30million+.

As a business accountability coach and highly regarded maven she has advised and consulted with over 30+ startups and founders including leading a number of those organizations to major funding cycles.

Kimberly is the Chief Strategist for Women and Drones (W&D) a global and leading membership organization dedicated to driving excellence in the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) / Urban Air Mobility (UAM) / AAM Advanced Air Mobility / Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) industries by achieving equity and participation of women in all disciplines and across all employment sectors. As the Chief Strategist, she works with the entire W&D team to create, formulate, and implement strategies that support their core mission: to increase female participation in the economic opportunities of the industry.

She is a Homeland Security Startup Studio Entrepreneur at FedTech. Where she focuses her expertise and effort in meeting our nation’s Homeland Security needs.

Having served on several national Information Technology Curriculum committees she managed a national (English to Spanish) translation technology curriculum project for over 365,000 students. She is a Subject Matter Expert, Content Expert and published author for Pearson Publishing.

As the Founder of Techpak - one of premier tech events for K-12 students in greater Houston, Kimberly uses her ability to connect and build collaborative relationships across educational institutions and corporations. By strategically aligning both corporate social responsibility and educational learning objectives with best practices in STEM, STEAM, and STREAM - Techpak has hosted over 700+ students, 100+ parents, and 200+ professional volunteers annually.

She has spent over 17 years teaching at the college level. Kimberly has earned several local, state and national teaching awards at the collegiate level. Kimberly is grateful to serve on several national, regional, and greater Houston non-profit boards and advisory committees including CompTIA Drone Advisory Council, Compudopt, Common Cookery. She believes that service is the rent, we pay for the privilege of living on this earth (Shirley Chisholm).

Austin serves as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence to the Houston Community College Northeast campus.  where he co-created and now delivers the HCC Mattress Mack School of Selling and works with over 300 enterprises and business owners annually to start, grow, and optimize their enterprises.

In coaching emerging companies to better business results, Austin focuses on the three drivers of profitable, sustainable and exponential growth:

  • Strategic Direction and Execution,
  • Customer Experience, and
  • Team Dynamics

Austin  is also a Certified Executive Leadership and Business Coach with the FocalPoint Coaching organization, helping leaders to unlock organizational potential to achieve better “Better Business Results”.  His Executive Leadership practice is focused on individual contributors recently elevated into leadership roles, leaders interested in accelerating their career trajectory and leaders desiring to address a gap in skills. Austin earned his leadership stripes and global recognition, turning around an underperforming business unit, – increasing operating profits by 32% in 11 months.
