Dr. de Jongh, a board-certified naturopathic doctor, has enjoyed a career integrating science, wellness and beauty. Her appearance at the event highlights HCC’s cosmetology and wellness programs, further affirming the college’s position as a leader in career-focused education.

“The opportunity to present at a conference like the IECSC is incredibly significant,” Dr. de Jongh said. “It allows me to share insights into the critical role of skin histology in medical esthetics and the importance of safe practices for oncology esthetics. It moves beyond product promotion and focuses on raising the standard of education within the industry.”

Dr. de Jongh’s session will focus on inner wellness as the foundation for lasting skin health, a philosophy she has long championed in the classroom. Her presentation will explore links between gut health and skin conditions, unveiling how the gut microbiome impacts inflammation, immunity and skin barrier functions.
