CLEP - Credit By Exam

Effective July 1, 2023, the CLEP^® exam fee will be $93. The current $90 fee will apply to all exams purchased through June 30, 2023.

CLEP (the College-Level Examination Program®) offers 34 exams that cover intro-level college course material. With a passing score on one CLEP exam, you could earn three or more college credits at more than 2,900 U.S. colleges and universities.

To schedule a CLEP exam appointment at one of the HCC Testing Centers first visit http://clep.collegeboard.org/register/exam to create a CLEP Student Account. Choose a CLEP subject test and pay the $93 per subject test fee.  HCC charges an administrative CLEP fee of $12 per scheduled CLEP appointment. Please print or take of picture of the Registration Ticket to provide to the testing center on the day of testing. 

Veteran & Military Affiliated Students

To help military service members as well as eligible spouses and civil service employees reach their education goals, the U.S. government fully funds CLEP exams and administration fees so you can save money toward your degree.

These benefits are available to:

• Military personnel (active duty, reserve, National Guard):Army, Navy, Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Navy Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, Army, and Air National Guard.
• Spouses of:Coast Guard (active and reserve).
• Civilian employees of:Air Force (must test at on-base or U.S. fully funded test centers).
• Veterans:If you're a veteran, you may be eligible to receive education benefits under the Forever G.I. Bill.
