STEM Students: Join LSAMP Community of Experience and Earn a $1250 Stipend
Aug 17, 2020
IDEAS Academy has partnered with HCC's LSAMP Program to again offer the Community of Experience to qualified STEM students.
The National Science Foundation's Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP)-Harris County Community College Alliance (HCCCA) Grant provides current HCC students, preparing to transfer into a four-year STEM program, the opportunity to earn a stipend for both the Fall and Spring semesters.
The LSAMP Community of Experience offers an innovative learning experience based on the West Houston Institute IDEAS Academy curriculum.
Participating students will be part of a cross-disciplinary cohort working on STEM projects dealing with a theme of global sustainability. They will experience virtual learning to help them develop the mindsets, skillsets, and digital toolsets to be successful in the future.
This community involves a commitment of 60 hours per semester, with the opportunity to participate in both semesters. You will receive a stipend of $1,250 per semester.
