Chemical Engineering Technology
The Chemical Engineering Technology program gives graduates the technical and managerial skills necessary to enter careers in design, manufacturing, marketing, operation, and maintenance applicable in chemical, food and beverage, oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper, and other related industrial settings.
Primarily, the field of chemical engineering technology is dependent upon the application of chemistry in an industrial setting. The program ensures that graduates have a working knowledge of and ability to solve technical problems by the industrial application of inorganic/organic/analytical chemistry; physics, and process Stoichiometry; thus, it enables them to solve technical and managerial problems of a more complex nature. Graduates of this associate degree program typically have extensive knowledge of process operations, maintenance, laboratory applications, design, technical service, supervision, and manufacturing. They also have the ability to operate, test, and evaluate chemical process equipment in accordance with appropriate safety, health, and environmental considerations and regulations.
