State Conceal Carry Licensing - Course CJLE 1094
This is a ten-hour course mandated by the Texas Department of Public Safety Concealed Handgun Licensing Unit taught by HCC Public Safety Institute Training Instructors. The training includes both classroom and the shooting proficiency portion of the license requirements. Instruction will include selected Texas laws regarding weapons, and use of deadly force, non-violent dispute resolution, where you can and cannot carry, and safe handgun handling. Applicants must be law abiding, adults 21 and older unless student is claiming military exemption (active military or honorably discharged) where as they can be 18 to 20 years of age, and no criminal record and hold a current Texas Drivers License or a valid TX DPS Identification Card.

Bring the Required Items:
Payment to HCCS in check, money order, or cash
Shooting Glasses
Ear Protection--muff type--to cover the ear and area behind the ear
Head Cover--cap or hat that will cover the head and the area toward the face (such as a baseball cap)
Footwear shall be of a type that the entire foot is covered (no sandals, open toe shoes, high heels, etc.)
Handgun--Revolver at least.38 caliber or Semi-Automatic of at least .32 caliber--all handguns should be in good repair and have no modification(s)--Make sure you are familiar with your handgun--no time allotted in class for handgun practice session.
Ammunition--NO RELOADED AMMUNITION WILL BE ALLOWED--minimum of 50 rounds, new in a box, which meets SAAMI Specification
Range type clothing (no shorts, t-shirts, wear a shirt with a collar)
Class starts at 8:00 A.M.
ID (Texas Drivers License) will be checked in the classroom
Do Not bring loaded weapons into the building--NO manipulation or handling of handguns in parking lots or classroom!
