Start a Club

• Step 1: Make an Appointment
  
  Make an appointment with the Student Life Coordinator to discuss the proposed student club/organization mission, learn about required documentation and explanation of how the petition process works.
• Step 2: Print a Copy of the Student Leadership Manual
  
  Obtain a copy of he HCC Student Leadership Manual that contains the institution's policies and procedures that governs student clubs/organizations and their sponsored activities.
• Step 3: Find 15 Students To Join Your Club
  
  Find at least fifteen (15) students who wants to join and serve as founding members.
• Step 4: Secure an Advisor
  
  Secure a full-time HCC employee, with his/her supervisor's permission, to serve as the primary advisor.
• Step 5: Write a Constitution and Bylaws
  
  Write a Constitution/Bylaws and have the Student Life Coordinator review it before it is officially submitted.
• Step 6: Compile Your Official Petition Packet
  
  Once the constitution/bylaws have been approved by the founding members and advisor(s), here is a list the required documents that must be including in the official petition packet:

  Turn in your completed packet to the Office of Student Life. It is best to schedule an appointment by emailing the Student Life Coordinator.
